Vision & Mission

Belonging, healing, growth, and equitable community guide how UUCF imagines and practices its shared life.

Our Shared Direction

What we are becoming, and how we move toward it.

Our Vision

We envision an evolving beloved world community* centering our interdependence with each other and the Earth and encompassing the inherent worth of each individual, so that all life can thrive.

Our Mission

Our mission is to shine a beacon of belonging, create spaces for healing and growth, and collaborate to build equitable communities.

Beloved Community

* “the end is reconciliation; the end is redemption; the end is the creation of the Beloved Community. It is this type of spirit and this type of love that can transform opponents into friends. It is this type of understanding goodwill that will transform the deep gloom of the old age into the exuberant gladness of the new age. It is this love which will bring about the miracles in the hearts of men.”

– Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., December 3, 1956. Speech given at rally that celebrates the US Supreme Court’s decision to desegregate Montgomery, Alabama’s public bus system.
